Tips on how to break into the freelance writing
Posted in Freelancer Guide by admin | No CommentsThe freelance writing market is vast. You have so many sites out there such that you won’t know where to begin. Here are a couple of tips on what to do:
- Check out the ads coming up on freelance writing sites. Read the requirement and make a sample of what they need.
- Ensure that the sample sent is professional. This means you need to have a sample that is written in a simple, concise writing style, without any errors. Most important thing is to make ensure every part of the required work is original.
- When sending your sample, state your purpose for applying in a smart way. You can say something like, you want to enhance your writing experience or that you can meet up to expected deadlines and much more.
- You can post your writing service in the same site in which you apply for ads. They usually have a section that offers this.
- Make sure that the source of your work assignment has a site and is well-established one. You can find this out by asking them for a website address. The way they specify their work requirements and compensation provisions you can find their credibility. If you find any difference just drop the project.
- Once you get a project, meet the deadline. The main problem with people trying to gain a foothold onto the freelance writing market is that they send in their assignments late. This is because they have yet to gain professional experience. The result is poor impression and the source may not want to hire you the next time.
